Dancing Place: Corhanwarrabul is a program of performances, walks and workshops at sites of the Dandenong Ranges (Corhanwarrabul), bringing leading site-specific dance artists together to respond to this place. We are thrilled that the live program was able to go ahead as booked out public events on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November, 2020.
Videos of the performance works and an interactive Sensory Walk are now live on the website: www.dancingplacecorhanwarrabul.com
Opened by a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Head Man, Murrundindi, and with a place consciousness grounded in Indigenous presence, Dancing Place: Corhanwarrabul introduces locals and visitors to diverse modes of performance in relation to place.
Artists and cultural leaders: Murrundindi, Mandy Nicholson and Djirri Djirri, Gulsen Ozer, Dani-Ela Kayler, Tammy Wong-Hulbert, Marnie Badham, Vivienne Rogis, Gretel Taylor, Environmental Performance Authority and Laki Sideris.
Dancing Place: Corhanwarrabul was curated by Gretel Taylor and funded by Yarra Ranges Council through their Community Grants program and in association with RidgeWalk.
